Tree of Love

T

here was an Angel casted away from Heaven. He fell into the Earth, and broke his wings. The Fallen Angel lost his ability to fly and started to curse God. Everything has been taken away from him and he has nothing now except a spell to disguise his wings. The poor Fallen Angel even lost his will to live. However, he refused to die in such tragic condition, and decided to defend his dignity. First, he observed the surrounding and realises that he fell near a swift river. He disguised his broken wings and started to walk over the river bank hoping that he will met someone who has food.

After two hours of walking, he met a pretty little girl with a pinkish cheek and a pair of brown eyes. Her hair is not very long, however very smooth and bright enough to catch the Fallen Angel’s eye. Her scent is fragrant enough; enchanting the Fallen Angel to surrender himself. She was taking water from the river when the Fallen Angel saw her. The Fallen Angel fell in love at first sight when seeing her.

“Who are you?” asked the girl. “I’m a traveller,” he replied. “My horse was killed and my goods were robbed by a group of robber.” “Can you please give me some food to eat? I haven’t eaten anything since my goods were robbed.”

The girl took the Fallen Angel to her house in a nearby Village called the Avalon. The Avalon was a very poor village which was suffering an extremely serious famine. The soil was very barren. The Fallen Angel spotted nothing else but dying plant and hungry villager.

The girl lived alone in a tiny little house near the border of the poor village. Her parent had passed away and she has no other relative. However, she has plenty of food to eat. Her parents left her a lot of apple for her to eat. The apples had been enchanted with her parents’ strong love so it will never decompose. She often offers the villager her apple to eat, yet their hunger will never fade.

She gives the Fallen Angel an Apple and told him not to hesitate if he still hungry. The Fallen Angel was very grateful. He ate the apple slowly while observing the girl’s little house. The tiny little house was very clean. It was only one levelled house with two windows, one small bed at the corner of the house and a cabinet with a lot of apples inside it. In the middle of the house there is a small table with Clematis marmoraria in a vase on it.

The girl was very surprised. She realised that the traveller whom she had just met has a very pale skin. His eyes were as blue as the brightest morning sky. He had a short smooth auburn hair and his height is 160 centimetres. The girl started to felt something about him. Actually she had known it since the mysterious traveller greeted her.

“Mr. Traveller, I have a favour” said the girl. She emboldened herself and said, “It may seem weird, but will you stay with me for a while?” She was very lonely, and she wanted the traveller to sit up with her. “You seem pretty tired from your journey, why don’t you stay here?” the girl insisted.

Unable to refuse the girl’s request, he said, “Very well, I am very tired since the last journey, thanks for offering me your kindness.” The girl was very happy to hear the Fallen Angel agreed to stay with her.

True, the girl did not believe to strangers, however this time she felt something different from the Fallen Angel. She felt comfortable near him. She felt that he is the one whom she can believe. That is why she asked the Fallen Angel to stay in her house because she has been very lonely since her parent passed away.

A year has passed. Their feeling was getting stronger, but both of them are too shy to confess their feeling, so they remained silent. The Fallen Angel realised his love for the girl and how much he cared about her. However the Fallen Angel did not want to make the girl’s life even more difficult. The apples which are the only food for the girl are depleting. Thus he decided to leave her and watch her from distance, but the girl did not want it to happen. The girl told him that she wanted him to stay with her longer. She did not want to be left again by someone who is precious to her.

The Fallen Angel refused. He did not want to be a burden for the girl. He wanted the best for her, thus he left the girl while she was sleeping. Before he left, he kissed the girl in her forehead and swear to himself that he will always keep his eye on her. He wanted the best for her, although she would cry in loneliness when he left her, but it is better than make her life even more difficult.

The Fallen Angel decided to live in a barren hill outside the village where he can watch her house without being seen. Every day, the Fallen Angel looked after her from dawn to dusk. He watched her tenderly from his bright brown eyes. He felt satisfied just to watch her safe and healthy. The poor Fallen Angel held his tears, so did the girl. He wanted to be together with her, but he did not want to give her a hard time, thus he sacrificed his desire in sake of her happiness.
